I’ve always been a big fan of these Netgear Nighthawk routers. I don’t have this exact model but i have had several of them in the past & they have always been robust & reliable routers. Specifically, I owned the R7000, which lasted many years & is actually still in use at my parents house. It’s going on almost 7-8 years old and still going strong. I believe the Costco model was slightly different and it’s model number was R6900 with only 1 USB port as opposed to 2. Anyways, back to this router…….this is one of the newer Netgear router models & is packed with features to handle all of today’s wireless needs. Here are a few notable specifications for this router…..

  • Next-generation WiFi 6 (802.11ax) Technology for the Increasing Demand for Wireless Connectivity
  • High-performance WiFi 6 Smart Homes with 20+ Devices, 4x Faster Speeds than 11ac
  • Ideal for the Growing Smart Home with Many Connected Devices or Family Members
  • Get Faster File Transfers and Uninterrupted Connections Using the Five Wired Gigabit Ports
  • Backwards-compatible with 802.11a/b/g/n/ac WiFi Technologies Modem Required
  • USB 3.0 Access Port that can be used for NAS (Network Attached Storage)
  • Beam-forming + 4 external antennas
  • Model: RAX45-100NAS

If you want a high quality router & don’t want to deal with the many options out there, I would just go with this Costco model. If for some reason you don’t like it, you can always return it without issue. Make sure to update the firmware as soon as you get it & I’m sure you will get many years of use out of this.

Now if you’re looking for something a little more powerful, or your budget is a little bigger check out these 2 other model’s of the Netgear Nighthawk Line……….the AX5400 & the AX6000. You’ll pay a little bit more, but you’ll be able to handle many devices, with lots of heavy streaming…….
