Costco Organic Artisan Bakers Super Seed Bread

I recently noticed this bread at Costco the other day. We are normally a Dave’s Killer Bread kinda house, but we figure we would try something new. This stuff is awesome! It has a sourdough type flavor to it (my personal favorite) & packed with seeds. Our go to favorites are Avocado Toast or simply some homemade peanut butter spread on top. It’s also fantastic with Costco’s Kerrygold butter. This bread is organic with no sugar added, & 5 grams of protein per serving. It’s packed with Flax Seed, Sunflower Seeds, Sesame Seeds & Poppy Seeds. If you’re into Dave’s Killer Bread, give this a try.

      1. Still haven’t seen it on the shelves at my Costco. It might have been my favorite bread they had. If I see it again I’ll be sure to post

  1. This has been my absolute favorite bread! I used to love Kirkland’s multigrain that they carried about ten years ago, but finally learned about this one and am in love. Dave’s has a grainyness to it that is off-putting. The flavor and texture of Artisan Bakers’ Super Seed is PERFECT!

My Costco does not carry it anymore (some do, I’ve learned, but they are few and far between), so I called up the bakery and they were very helpful with possible locations. So, some places you may be able to get the bread:
-Trader Joe’s (under the variety of Organic 5 Seed Multigrain)
-Safeway (different color packaging, same Superseed bread)
-Grocery Outlet (different color packaging, same Superseed bread)

I’ll be going this weekend and stocking up!

    1. Wow! Thanks for the heads up on that. We haven’t seen this at Costco in a while now. We absolutely loved this bread too! I’ll have to check out those stores and see if I can find it again. Hopefully my Costco carries it soon because we are so close to Sonoma!

  2. Per Costco, they have discontinued the Sonoma Bakery Artisan Super Seed bread from their inventory. They are now carrying Dave’s Good Seed bread instead. Dave’s does not come close to the taste or quality of the Sonoma Bakery product. Please, please contact your local Costco and ask them to bring the Artisan Super Seed bread back.

    1. They’ve always carried Dave’s bread. There was a time when they were selling both Dave’s and the Artisan Bakers super seed. I haven’t seen this super seed bread in a while so it may be true. It’s unfortunate because it was our favorite sliced bread to buy at Costco. I’ll make sure to put a request in but I won’t hold my breath. I’ll keep an eye out weekly though

  3. Gone from Costco in Vallejo and Fairfield. At Safeway Benicia but it comes in frozen so says the Safeway clerk! Not sure why it’s gone from Costco, so sad as it was so fresh!

    1. OK. Thanks for the heads up. Nice that you are able to get it at Safeway when Costco doesn’t have it in stock. I was looking for it today at Costco & couldn’t find it, so we don’t have it either. I think it’s a supply issue so hopefully we’ll see it soon. Keep me updated if you find it before me

      1. The bread is available at Safeway Benicia but it tastes stale! I was so spoiled by the freshness it had when stocked at Costco, that anything else is unacceptable! I called the Sonoma phone # and was told it’s available at Costco and Grocery Outlet. Neither Vallejo store had it. She said Costco switches breads often, so to look for it again someday!

        1. Ya. I haven’t seen it at my store recently either. I think it’s a supply issue. This has happened before. Then all of a sudden it will appear back on the shelves. Hopefully they’ll start stocking it at all the Bay Area Costco’s again. I’ll keep my eye out

  4. Best bread on town but sadly disappeared from Costco shelves. I’m not talking about the keto version which is good too. What happened?

    1. I’m sorry to hear. I don’t know what happened. They are located in Sonoma County, CA so maybe they are just stocking the local Costco’s in California. We are very lucky to still have it on our shelves. I really hope Costco doesn’t find a new supplier, because we absolutely love this bread. Good luck finding it! I hope they stock it soon

      1. Now its gone from bay area costco too atleast the 2 that I have been to here in SJ. Can you please tell me if its still available at your Costco?

        1. I just went yesterday & it wasn’t there. I hope it’s not gone for good. I have had this happen before though & then it suddenly re-appears on the shelves. I’ll keep my eyes open & try to update this comment if I see it. Please do the same. Thanks for stopping by

    1. I’m not sure why. It sounds like it’s off the shelves at many of the Costco’s. Fortunately they are still stocking them in the Bay Area. It could possibly be a supply issue. Please let me know if you see it on the shelves any time soon

    1. Sorry to hear! Fortunately they are still selling it at our local Costco. It’s our #1 go to bread! We’d have to go back to Dave’s Killer Bread (which is great too!) if they stop selling this

    1. They are still selling it at my local Costco. The same company even started selling the Keto Bread which is great too! I hope the start stocking it on your shelves again!

  5. Did Costco stop selling this bread? When I went a few weeks ago there were only a few loaves left, but I chalked that up to being later in the day. I went on Friday and it was gone. Has it been replaced by that keto bread? I hope not as I would rather the bread be organic (and I don’t do keto).

I checked the Artisan Bakers’ site and it isn’t listed as a product.

For the life of me I don’t understand why all breads (outside of sourdough) have sugar in it. This bread fit the bill nicely.

    1. Hi Shannon,

This bread is still in stock at my local Costco…..Bay Area, CA. I have seen it missing from the shelves every once in a while, so maybe it’s just out of stock right now. It’s still our favorite bread at Costco! I don’t think they would replace the Organic Artisan Bakers Super Seed Bread with the Keto bread. That’s apples & oranges. I’ll double check my local Costco this week, but I know I saw it on the shelves last week. Let me know if you end up seeing it again. Thanks!

  6. Do you know if it’s safe to freeze this bread? I’m the only one doing keto in my family and can’t seem to eat if fast enough before it goes bad

    1. We ALWAYS freeze a loaf. We don’t eat it fast enough either & every once in a while we’ll lose a partial loaf of bread to mold. It’s rare though. Some may notice a difference after freezing, but I honestly don’t. Sometimes I’ll just leave it in the freezer and put a couple frozen slices in the toaster. It’s all the same to me & still tastes good. Hope that helps!

  7. The best bread ever. I like the sourdough taste with all the seeds and lightly toasted. Last time at Costco-Concord this was bread was plentiful, hope they continue to stock it.

    1. Good glad to hear they have it in stock in the greater bay area. I was eating frequently with the Kerry Gold Butter but now I love it with my homemade peanut butter. I’ll post a recipe for that soon. Once you try homemade peanut butter, everything else tastes bland

    1. Glad you like it! I hope they keep stocking it too. You never know when they stop stocking a product. It seems like right when you find a product you think everyone likes, they stop stocking it!

    1. So true! It seems as though the Dave’s Killer bread (both yellow & green packaging) is more popular, but we’ve been buying this stuff the last few months.

  8. It is amazing, indeed! We also noticed that it was sourdoughy….and those whole sunflower seeds are scrumptious…all you need is to toast it and add some Irish butter

    1. Ya! You’re so right. It definitely has that sourdough taste. I am a big fan of that thought because I love sourdough. That Kerrygold butter is the way to go. I’ll be making a post about Kerrygold butter soon (The cheese is amazing too!). Thanks for posting!
