Costco sells this Duracell Powersource 660 for $499.99. Scroll down for photos. I really could have used this a while back during the PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS). At the time I had no plan for emergency power. We had no power for 2 days & after that I made sure I was ready for the next outage. I currently have a gas generator (I talk about it here) & it works perfect for us. I WISH I had something like this as a temporary measure to power up the refrigerator & bottle warmer (Our kid was less than 1 at the time). This is a FANTASTIC item to have in your emergency stash. It’s a little pricey at $500, but when you need it, it’s worth it. Here are a few more details about this Duracell PowerSource 660………
- 660 Watt Hour Battery Capacity (12V, 55Ah)
- (4) AC outlets for powering household items, (2) USB ports for on the go power, (1) 12V DC outlet

Duracell PowerSource Quiet Gasless Portable Power
On the back of the package, it gives estimated times for different household items. 5 hours for a regular refrigerator would have been amazing if I had this portable power bank. The benefit of being gasless is you can drag this in the house without worry of carbon monoxide. It travels well & can be used for many events (camping, road trips, vacation, emergencies, etc.). Being able to charge this via solar charging is fantastic too! As long as you have clear skies, you have power. If you can’t find this at Costco or want to comparison shop, check out these HIGHLY RATED (honestly, the reviews are off the charts) portable power banks……

Duracell and The solar placs
what brand of solar panels should hook up to it? How do they hook up to it?
You can use any solar panels that use the standard “Anderson Connector”. Here is a set of foldable solar panels that would work great…… Rockpals 60W Foldable Solar Panel with ETFE Technology, Parallel Cable, USB-C, Kickstand Portable Solar Panel Compatible with Jackery/Flashfish/Other Power Station
Hope that helps
Can the Duracell 660 be used while it is being charged by a solar panel
According to the user guide…no. They do not have that as an option. They only have charging from solar as an option when there is no draw from the device
Donde puedo ir a comprarla vivo en San Juan P.R
These are sold at Costco. I still see them on the shelves. I would check with your local Costco to see if they are in stock. I know they are in stock here in Northern California, but I am not sure about San Juan, Puerto Rico. I hope you find one. Good luck!
How loud is the generator sound?
It is virtually noiseless. A few people mention that it makes an audible clicking sound, but if you have a power outage, that’s probably a low concern. It’s NOTHING compared to a gas generator, so if that is something that is important to you, this may be the product for you. I still see them in stock at Costco & they are available on Costco.com right now
You mentioned in this article that the Costco Duracell 660 is pure sine wave is that true or not everyone else says it’s modified sine wave I’m having a hard time finding the truth thank you
I read over my post. I don’t see anywhere that I mentioned “pure sine wave”. The only place is says that is the Portable Power Station I recommended people to comparison shop to. It is a link to Amazon & that unit describes itself as a pure sine wave. You can click the link to see……
