Costco sells this Vornado Fan for $44.99. Scroll down for photos. These Vornado fans are wonderful. I own one of the previous models that had the hard black plastic base as opposed to the chrome plated base. It’s still going strong & gets used several times a year. We live in an area where it gets too hot only a couple times a year. We don’t have A/C in our house so when the temperatures rise, we pull out the Vornado. It’s compact, stores well & moves LOTS of air. The nice part about it, is that on the lowest setting you can barely hear it, so it’s great for nighttime white noise as well. Costco Vornado Pivot 6X Air Circulator, Model CR1-0458-06
They had a display up at Costco so I got a chance to try it out. It sounded just like the models in years past but seemed to move more air. The biggest complaint with these is that they are loud. When you have it on the highest setting, it is a bit loud. Probably too loud to sleep with, but that goes for the old models too. Costco.com currently sells 4 Vornado’s online including this one. It’s about $10 more online so I recommend getting this in-store if you can. It also comes different colors online too! I found this in the middle aisle next to the other home goods. I just had a very interesting experience with this fan. It’s very effective, blowing directly on me from across the room – 12′ away – even at the second (“High”?) speed, while I’m sitting upright in a recliner (one of two, side by side.)
Behind the recliners, with no clear line of sight to the fan, I have an iMRS (PEMF – pulsed electromagnetic fields) mat, laying on the floor. I was shocked to find that, while lying on the mat, BEHIND the two recliners, 15 ft from the fan and with no clear line of sight, I could still feel the air movement along my whole body! (And NOT at the highest speed!)
I was impressed, as the “circulator” label isn’t just hype!
