  1. Just bought this flag yesterday (07/01/23) and after installing the bracket and our solar light kit, we noticed the stars are not centered on the blue field – ie. they are stitched within an inch from the top but three inches from the bottom; and the same from side-to-side). Disappointed and bothered. Not sure it’s worth returning since the closest store (purchased from) is over an hour away.

  2. I put the Costco Flag on my 30foot pole. It lasted a year. Much longer than the flag that came with the pole 4 months and longer than the $85 flag 6 months. Very windy where i live.

  3. 2022 flag kit is nowhere near the quality of previous years:
    – Rings that support the flag on the pole (to permit rotation in the wind) are silver-painted plastic that break and chip, easily
    – Clips meant to fasten to cloud grommets are too small to connect either to flag grommets or to plastic ring on pole — had to use one clip from an earlier kit (was much larger) and a key ring (as the other clip from the previous kit had disintegrated in rust.
Flag is nice-looking and has actually-stitched stars, but the fabric is extremely-thin.
On the whole, I’d not buy this kit, again.

    1. Thanks for the honest review. These are still on sale at my local Costco, so I’ll take a closer look next time.

    1. Ya. This is a great kit! It’s back in stock at Costco right now. Won’t be on the shelves for long though

      1. Hello I just purchased the American Flag and have mounted to my front porch I didn’t see where or if this can be adjusted for when half staff is implied? Cant this be adjusted for when the flag is to be lowered to half staff? Thanks!

        1. Does the top rotating mount have a screw you can loosen to lower the upper hook? If not, I don’t think this flag will be adjustable. It’s pretty hard to lower to half staff with only 6 feet of aluminum pole. Hope that helps

        2. Put the flagpole in the other/lower hole in the holder so it sticks straight out so the pole is about parallel to the ground. From what I’ve read, it’s not common but still recognized for times when the flag should be at half staff.

      2. I bought one just now. brought it home after a long day driving…got home started setting the flag up to find
the dang thing’s got plastic clips to attach the flag….the clips are such weak plastic they broke from the weight of the flag !!!

  4. Love this flag pole set! Great quality! When painters painted our house, they lost the pole bracket. Where can we get a replacement to fit this 1.25″ pole? I bought and returned at least 5 brackets so far from Amazon and Home Depot…

  5. These are great flags, but here in Arizona (with red tile roofs) the ends of the flags seem to get stained from rubbing against the tile roof. Wondering if anyone has tried pre-treating this flag with Scotchgard to try to prevent staining.

    1. Not sure about that. Any chance to use some fishing line to keep it from rubbing against said roof? It’s relatively inexpensive enough where replacing once a year wouldn’t break the bank.

  6. I bought the kit. I like it. But. USE TOUR OWN SCREWS. ALL 3 ON MINE FELL APART WITHIN DAYS! Other than that it’s a good kit.

    1. Thanks for the heads up general. Ya, I would use my own outdoor screws or deck screws. Sounds like they put some cheapo screws that will probably rust & aren’t long enough. You can spend a couple bucks and get some nice outdoor or stainless steel screws at Lowe’s / Home Depot. Something like these would work great. Click here! I’m assuming you are screwing into at least a 4 x 4 post

  7. It wasn’t me but someone I know. Frankly I thought it was BS but I always research items. Thank you for your response.

  8. I received this email from a friend. He’s stating that Costco does not sell the American Flag at the Sterling Hts. store in Michigan. Is this true?

My wife went to Costco (Sterling Heights, Mi.) yesterday to buy a few things, one of which we wanted a new American Flag. She couldn’t find it in the isle’s so she went to customer service and asked where the flags may be, well she was told that Costco doesn’t carry them at this time as it offends some people WHAT!!!!!!.

    1. That’s news to me. I live in the Bay Area, CA & I’ve been to all 4 Costco’s around me & all 4 of them carry the American Flag. I was just there today & I found 2 different sections where they carry the American Flag. I’m not sure why that store doesn’t carry it & if that is Costco’s reasoning, it doesn’t really make sense. Maybe they are just behind on getting stock. Let me know if you end up finding it.

      1. I just moved from the Bay Area and I also saw it at the Costco in foster city before leaving. I just went to the Costco in Alexandria Virginia and they also sold it there. I wonder if every state doesn’t get it….hopefully it shows ip in your Costco soon

        1. Thanks for the info Irma. I feel like I have seen it at every Costco I’ve been to in the last few weeks. They must be getting ready for July 4th as well as summer. Thanks for sharing

      2. I’m really irritated with Costco here in the Willamette Valley Oregon.. actually, maybe all of Oregon?; can’t remember now, but had them check all Costco’s from Eugene to Salem before July 4th, and first year ever they didn’t have any this year. Figured online wouldn’t have any, and they didn’t. Not sure who messed up getting them this year, but doesn’t look good & the BETTER have them next year in Oregon.. only a few loud mouths are woke here in Oregon, so don’t give up on us Costco! 😉

        1. Sorry to hear about that Max. I’m really surprised because I saw them everywhere in the California stores. That’s too bad Oregon didn’t carry any. Did they give any reason why? or just out of stock? Let me know if you end up finding one.
