Costco Caymus Wine, Cabernet Sauvignon

Costco sells this bottle of Caymus Wine for $73.99. Scroll down for photos. For those of you who don’t know, Costco has a pretty large selection of wine for being a warehouse club. They have ranges from the classic Kirkland Signature Boxed Wine, to bottles of wine over $1,000. This bottle sits right in the middle. It is a Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. It is a 2018 vintage, which was right in the middle of some of the worst wildfires California has seen. I imagine this drove up some of the bottle prices. I’m not a wine drinker , but I sifted through plenty of reviews. The common themes were that it was rich & full & loaded with a berry taste. People really seemed to enjoy it with a nice steak. From the bottle: “Fruit is luscious, and integrated wood complements rather than define the wine. Ripeness abounds with youthful vibrancy. Fruit driven as Caymus is known, with overlay of French oak on the finish.” Take a look at the back of the bottle and you will see a photo of the original couple who started Caymus. I always enjoy seeing a little piece of history associated with the products I buy. Charlie & Lorna Wagner were married in 1934 & started Caymus Vineyards shortly after.
