I had to do a double take when I checked the price of of this Costco A5 Wagyu! I first saw the $99 & thought “wow, that’s expensive for 2 steaks!”. Then I realized it was $99 per pound and over $200 for the package. I’ve heard about Japanese A5 Wagyu beef being expensive, but I didn’t realize it was THIS expensive. Costco must have just got this in, because I didn’t see it a few weeks ago when I was grabbing steaks. My wife & I will eat Costco Filet Mignon as a treat a couple times a year. We absolutely love the cut, flavor & quality. It’s a little pricey, but nowhere near this. I’d love to hear how this tastes from anyone who has purchased this before. I’m sure there will be some people who feel it is worth the price, but it is definitely out of my our price range. Here are a few more details about this Costco A5 Wagyu………

Costco A5 Wagyu Japanese Ribeye Steak Beef
For those of you who don’t know, the term Wagyu refers to all Japanese beef cattle. That is why Wagyu beef is finding its way into the repertoires of Gourmet cooks and fine restaurants across the US.” They also claim that it is healthier for you too, as opposed to regular beef. It something I will probably try at least once, just not anytime soon. If you can afford it, this would be a great treat for the holidays. You’re guests will probably keep coming back every year. Just had this for the first time. It wasn’t a 2 pack we got from Costco, but a single steak. I think it was $85. Three of us were planning to share it just so we could try it. My daughter and her husband hated it (they said it was the texture), but I loved it. It literally melts in your mouth, as it should since it’s mostly fat. That was probably the best thing I’ve ever eaten, and luckily I got the whole steak.
