Sunvilla Julia Woven Chaise Lounge | In-store single: ~$140-220 (Item #1934073) | Online 2-pack: $499.99 / $399.99 on sale (Item #1933937) | Available in Gray and Brown
Previously: Seagrass Wicker Woven Chaise Lounge | Item #1902436 | $169.99 (no longer available)
Costco’s wicker chaise lounges are one of those products that sell out every spring and have people calling their local warehouse daily asking when they’ll be back. I’ve owned these chairs and they hold up extremely well outdoors — Bay Area sun, rain, wind, everything. After years of use, they still look almost brand new. No fading, no cracking, no sagging wicker. The aluminum frame doesn’t rust. They stack flat for winter storage and come out looking fresh every spring.
The original Seagrass model (Item #1902436) at $169.99 was one of the best outdoor furniture deals Costco ever carried. That model has been replaced by the Sunvilla Julia Woven Chaise Lounge, which carries the same DNA — all-weather wicker over a welded aluminum frame — with some design upgrades and a higher price point.
Here’s everything you need to know about both models and where the value stands today.

The Original: Seagrass Wicker Woven Chaise Lounge
The Seagrass chaise lounge (Item #1902436) at $169.99 was Costco’s most popular outdoor lounger for several years. It featured all-weather resin wicker woven over a fully welded, no-rust aluminum frame. The chair offered multi-position recline, wheels for easy movement, quick-dry padded seating, and the ability to fold flat for storage and stacking.
At $169.99 in-store, it was a fraction of the cost of comparable wicker loungers from outdoor furniture retailers where similar chairs run $300-500 each. The online 2-pack was $499.99 on Costco.com (the markup covering shipping costs for bulky furniture), but the in-store single at $169.99 was the deal everyone wanted.
This model carried a 4.7/5 rating with over 4,000 reviews on Costco.com — one of the highest-rated outdoor furniture items in Costco history. The most common feedback: the chairs are lightweight, comfortable without cushions, and genuinely durable season after season.
The Seagrass model is no longer available at Costco. If you own them, hold onto them — they’re excellent chairs that will continue performing for years. If you’re looking for the replacement, that’s the Sunvilla Julia.
The Current Model: Sunvilla Julia Woven Chaise Lounge
The Sunvilla Julia (Item #1933937 for the 2-pack, Item #1934073 for singles) is the successor to the Seagrass lounger. It carries the same core construction philosophy — hand-woven all-weather wicker over a powder-coated, rust-resistant aluminum frame — with a few design updates:
Herringbone wicker pattern — The Julia features a more refined herringbone weave pattern compared to the Seagrass model’s standard weave. It’s a subtle difference that gives the chair a slightly more upscale appearance.
Four lounging positions — The reclining backrest adjusts to 4 positions for enhanced comfort, from upright to nearly flat.
All-weather wicker — Resistant to fading, stains, mildew, and stretching. UV-protected to maintain its appearance season after season.
Hidden wheels — Integrated wheels that don’t detract from the chair’s appearance while still allowing easy repositioning around the patio or pool.
Stackable — Stacks for off-season storage, just like the Seagrass model.
Foam-padded seating surface — The woven seat includes built-in foam padding for comfort without requiring separate cushions.
Available in Gray and Brown — Two neutral color options that complement most outdoor settings.
Pricing: Then vs. Now
The price has increased from the original Seagrass model, reflecting both inflation and design upgrades:
Original Seagrass (2021-2024):
- In-store single: $169.99 (Item #1902436)
- Online 2-pack: $499.99
Current Sunvilla Julia (2025-2026):
- In-store single: ~$140-220 depending on location and markdowns (Item #1934073)
- Online 2-pack: $499.99 / $399.99 on sale (Item #1933937)
The online 2-pack at $499.99 is the same price as the old Seagrass 2-pack was, and the $399.99 sale price ($100 off) makes each chair under $200 shipped to your door. The in-store singles have been spotted as low as $140.96 on clearance at some locations — if you see that price, buy immediately.
How Costco compares to competitors: Similar quality wicker chaise loungers from Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, and West Elm run $500-1,200 per chair. Amazon alternatives range from $200-400 per chair for comparable construction. Costco’s pricing — especially in-store — remains the best value for this quality level.
Why These Hold Up (Personal Experience)
I’ll keep this simple: I’ve had wicker chaise lounges from Costco sitting outdoors in the Bay Area for years. They’ve been through summer heat, winter rain, and everything in between. The wicker hasn’t cracked, faded, or unraveled. The aluminum frame shows zero rust. The chairs still recline smoothly and the wheels still roll.
Compare that to cheaper outdoor furniture from big-box stores that warps, rusts, or falls apart after 1-2 seasons. The fully welded aluminum frame is the difference — there are no joints to weaken, no bolts to loosen, no steel to corrode. The all-weather resin wicker is a different material from natural wicker — it’s synthetic, UV-resistant, and designed specifically for outdoor exposure.
These aren’t chairs you replace every couple of years. These are chairs you buy once and use for a decade.
Who Should Buy These
Pool owners. The quick-dry construction and weather resistance make these ideal poolside loungers. No cushions needed means no dragging wet cushions inside after every swim.
Patio and deck owners. The wicker aesthetic looks upscale without the upscale price. They complement any outdoor setting — modern, traditional, coastal, farmhouse.
Anyone tired of replacing cheap outdoor furniture. If you’ve been buying $50-100 loungers from Target or Walmart every 2 years, one Costco wicker chaise at $170-200 pays for itself by year 3.
Vacation home owners. Durable, stackable, low-maintenance. Set them out in April, stack them in October. No cushions to store, no covers needed, no maintenance required.
What to Know Before You Buy
Cushions are not included. The padded wicker seating is comfortable on its own for most people, but if you want additional cushion comfort, plan to buy separately. Standard chaise lounge cushions fit these chairs.
They’re seasonal at Costco. Both the original Seagrass and the current Sunvilla Julia appear in spring and sell out by mid-summer. If your store has them, buy that day. People were calling stores daily looking for the Seagrass model — expect the same demand for the Julia.
In-store vs. online pricing is significant. The in-store single is substantially cheaper per chair than the online 2-pack. If you can get to a Costco warehouse and they have stock, you’ll save $50-80 per chair versus buying online. The online markup covers the significant shipping cost for bulky furniture.
They’re lightweight but large. Easy to carry with one hand, but plan your vehicle space accordingly. They do fold flat, which helps for transport.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are Costco wicker chaise lounges comfortable without cushions?
Yes. The woven wicker provides a breathable, slightly padded seating surface. The Sunvilla Julia model includes foam padding in the woven seat. Most owners use them without cushions and find them comfortable for extended lounging.
Do Costco chaise lounges rust?
No. Both the original Seagrass and current Sunvilla Julia use fully welded, powder-coated aluminum frames that are rust-resistant. After years of outdoor use, the frames show no corrosion.
How long do Costco wicker chaise lounges last?
Based on personal experience and owner reports, 5-10+ years of regular outdoor use with zero maintenance. The all-weather resin wicker and aluminum construction are built for long-term durability.
Are the Seagrass chaise lounges still available at Costco?
No. The Seagrass Wicker Woven Chaise Lounge (Item #1902436) at $169.99 has been replaced by the Sunvilla Julia Woven Chaise Lounge. Check your local warehouse for current availability.
Can I leave these outside year-round?
Yes. The all-weather wicker and aluminum frame are designed for outdoor exposure. They’ll hold up fine through rain, sun, and moderate weather. For extreme climates (heavy snow, ice), stacking and covering them for winter will extend their lifespan further.
What’s the weight capacity?
Standard adult weight capacity. Costco doesn’t list an exact number for these models, but the fully welded aluminum frame handles normal adult use without issue.

Why are these chairs selling for $169.99 each in the store, and selling the same chairs online for $499.99 (2)???? I bought them online but after visiting New Jersey saw them at Costco for $169.99 each!!!! I live in Las Vegas where we can use them all year and the NE coast only can use them for about 4 months tops. Las Vegas should be getting the deals…..
I’m guessing it’s the shipping costs. Costco doubles up on products every once in a while to save on shipping, so they probable made it a 2 pack because it costs almost the same to ship 2 as 1. They upped the price due to shipping and handling. It’s like this for almost every Costco product online. This one is pretty steep though so I have to agree with you. I don’t see them on Costco.com anymore so it looks like they’re not for sale. Hope you ended up getting one or two
Anyone see these chairs in the New York area stores? Thank you!
These are hard to come by right now. I saw them fly off the shelves at the 3 – 4 Costco’s around me. They have the 2 – pack online right now, but it is currently “sold out”. I would keep monitoring Costco.com & ask your local Costco to see if they will be getting any more in. Grab the item number from this post. I hope that helps
yes new Rochelle store is the only one in ny has it . they had 14 as of 10 min ago.6/23/21 11am
Great! Thanks for the help SP. These are VERY popular in my area & have been sold out of most Costco’s for a while. Glad to hear that some people are still getting their hands on them
I’m waiting for these to be back in the store. I call daily
I hope you end up finding them. They are really popular items just like the Adirondack Chairs. Gotta snap them up as soon as you see them. Let me know if you end up finding them
Not available on the website. When trying to search by brand, product name, or item number, the search engine returns a “product not found” message! Does anyone know why?
That usually means they are out of stock online. I have done that hundreds of times with Costco. They usually keep the product online for a bit with the “Sold Out” sign across the product & then quickly the product goes offline. I don’t know if they will be getting any more in stock. You can always ask your local Costco & grab the product number from above. FYI…I went to Costco Saturday & I saw 2 left…. I’m sure someone snagged them before I got out of there. Sorry you couldn’t find them
